Step 1 of 2Read the paper
Is homework done in a group better than homework done alone, and does it depend on the kind of task? In a university seminar, teams took turns completing written assignments together or individually, on either a theory-building task or real company case studies. Researchers compared blind-marked grades, students' ratings of how much they learned, and short written reflections.
How to read it
- Find H1 and H2 just after Figure 1: every result is judged against these two predictions.
- Table 1 shows which teams worked together or alone on each assignment; trace one team across the term.
- Table 2 holds all the means and SDs; compare the collaborative and individual rows for each task.
- Read every limitation in Section 4: they change how strongly the results can be stated.
